Data curation tool FREDA presented at DataSHIELD Conference 2026 in Liverpool (UK)

In front of an international audience, IDMKD researcher Bastian Reiter presented the software tool FREDA. It enables the automated cleaning and curation of real-world health data and was developed as part of data research projects within the German Cancer Consortium (DKTK). More than 3,000 Patients in the Speciality Network Infectious Diseases (SNID) Base Cohort

Just under 15 months after recruitment started in May 2025, more than 3,000 patients have already been included in the base cohort of the Study Network Infectious Diseases (SNID). Inclusions are distributed across the modules Respiratory Infections (1,065), Gastrointestinal Infections (829), Bloodstream Infections (748), CNS Infections (337) and Emerging Infections (38). For every included case, a standardised baseline dataset and biosamples are available. This milestone shows that the infrastructure works, is ready for use and can be activated quickly when new research questions or pathogens emerge. We would like to thank all study teams and all participating patients for their contribution!
