{DE}Das Projekt AlPaCa (Algorithms in Patient Care - Wissenschaftliche Begleitung eines infektiologischen Konsildienstes in der Versorgung von neutropenischen Patient:innen mit Fieber unbekannter Genese in der Abteilung für Hämatologie und medizinische Onkologie der Medizinischen Klinik 2 am Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt) erarbeitet innerhalb der Medizinischen Klinik II der Universitätsklinik Frankfurt einen Algorithmus zur Identifikation von hämato-onkologischen Patient:innen, die eine lebensbedrohliche febrile Neutropenie unklarer Herkunft (Fever of Unknown Origin, FUO) entwickeln. Ziel ist die schnelle und qualitätsgesicherte Identifikation der Patient:innen, um eine leitliniengerechte Behandlung sicherzustellen und ggf. weitere diagnostische und therapeutische Schritte einzuleiten. Der Algorithmus basiert sowohl auf klinikinternen als auch nationalen Leitlinien und soll das routinemäßige ärztliche Screening von Patient:innen beschleunigen. Der Algorithmus wird basierend auf retrospektiven Patient:innendaten entwickelt und im Anschluss mit prospektiven Fällen evaluiert und implementiert, um die klinische Versorgung zu unterstützen. Das Projekt wird durch das IDMKD geleitet und gefördert aus Mitteln des Innovations- und Strukturentwicklungsbudgets des Landes Hessen, im Rahmen des Antrags zur Schaffung eines „Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) Hessen“.{/DE}

{EN}The project AlPaCa (Algorithms in Patient Care) is creating an algorithm within the Medical Clinic II of the University Hospital Frankfurt for the identification of hemato-oncology patients who develop life-threatening febrile neutropenia of unknown origin (FUO). The aim is the rapid and quality-assured identification of patients in order to ensure guideline-compliant treatment and, if necessary, to initiate further diagnostic and therapeutic steps. The algorithm is based on both internal and national guidelines and is intended to speed up the routine screening of patients. The algorithm will be developed based on retrospective patient data and then evaluated and implemented with prospective cases, in order to support clinical care. The project is led by the Institute and funded by the innovation and structural development budget of the state of Hessen (Germany) as part of the application for the creation of a “Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) Hessen”.{/EN}
